Vicky is Manager & co-founding Director of The SEND Dynamic C.I.C. brings lived experience, as an Autistic person and mother of two children with EHCP’s, she understands how overwhelming it is to navigate a complex and confusing system which is not fit for purpose. Over the last decade Vicky has been on a learning journey about SEND and has recently completed the IPSEA SEN Law training to support the knowledge picked up along the way. Knowing how hard things are for parents Vicky is passionate about helping others to have an easier time. As a qualified (CIOF) Cert professional fundraiser with 26 years’ experience working with a wide range of community and voluntary organisations across England in funding management and income generation Vicky has secured many millions in grants and contracts for both services and capital projects. Looking to combine lived experience with her professional skills Vicky hopes to make a difference to families when they need it most.
“I wish parents could just be free to be parents without the constant battles to get what their children need and are legally entitled to. Before I became a parent, I wrongly assumed that when children with special educational needs and disabilities needed help, they got it. I didn’t know that the education, health, and care system in this country is often inaccessible for the children it exists to support.
I soon came to appreciate how difficult and isolating it can be as a parent trying to get diagnosis, and then fighting for the right support in place in school.
Along the way I have met some amazing parents who have shared, helped, and supported, and wonderful professionals who have gone above and beyond to assist my family. My hope is for The SEND Dynamic C.I.C to become a valued source of help for parents, so that more children and young people can lead happier lives in which they are thriving not just surviving”.
